COVID- 19: Police register 218 FIRs against lockdown violators, vehicles seized

SRINAGAR, Mar 25: In its efforts to ensure complete lockdown across Jammu and Kashmir for safety of people, police has registered 218 FIR against lackdown violators.
A police spokesman said the FIRs have been registered for defying the orders of lockdown issued by the government aimed to stop or break down the chain of deadly COVID-19.
In Anantnag, Pulwama, Shopian, Kulgam and Awantipora, Districts of South Kashmr Police has registered FIR aganist 28 persons for violating the orders. In central Kashmir's Srinagar, Budgam and Ganderbal Districts police has registered FIRs aganist 14 such persons. In North Kashmir's Baramulla, Kupwara, Handwara, Sopore, Bandipora district, FIR has been registered against 27 persons for violating the lackdown orders.
In Jammu Samba Kathua range police has registered 50 FIRs aganist the persons for violating the orders and In Udhampur Reasi range 13 FIRs has been registered against the lockdown violators. Similarly, 21 FIRs has been registered against the persons for violating the orders in Doda Kishtwar Ramban Range. In Rajouri Poonch range Police has registered 65 FIRs against the persons violating lockdown orders.
A number of vehicles were also seized.
Police has once again requested the people to follow the instructions seriously to help in preventing the spread of deadly COVID-19.
Meanwhile, Jammu, Srinagar police hospitals have established helplines for the police personnel and their families for
immediate assistance.
