Time to learn to live with Covid

SRINAGAR, May 27: Deputy commissioner Srinagar Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary today said people must now learn to live with Covid while as administration has ordered for removing of barricades in all green and orange zones of the district for the smooth movement of people and emergency cases.
He, however, was quick to add that massive deliberations are on with the various stakeholders on revival of economy and survival of livelihood and that final decision will be taken on May 31 when lockdown guidelines will be reviewed at Centre, State and UT levels.
“We have passed direction to the concerned to remove the barricades that were put on roads, lanes and by lanes in earlier red zones where there is no positive case now.
We are taking a call after assessing when was the last case reported etc and accordingly barricades are being removed in green and orange zones of Srinagar district,” the DC Srinagar told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), adding that his message to Srinagarites was to get ready to leave with this pandemic as there is no treatment to it so far even at the global level.
He said barricades are being removed in Khayam Khayam, Natipora, Chattabal, Hakabazar Hawal, Boatmen colony, and Bemina areas of Srinagar and similarly in Orange zones of the city too.
“This is being done to ensure smooth supply of essentials and movement of people and emergency cases. Earlier, where there was only one point open for movement of people, all other entry and exit points are being re-opened for public convenience,” he said.
The DC Srinagar further told KNO that so far 15000 people were tested in Srinagar alone and at present there are 189 cases in the district of which 40 are travellers.
