Hideout busted in Thanamandi, 920 AK bullets, 14 Magazines, 11 UBGL grenades recovered

JAMMU, July 4: Security forces launched a search operation on Saturday following reports of "suspected movement" in the riverine areas along the International Border (IB) in Kathua-Samba sector, officials said.
Some people informed the police about suspected movement of two persons near the Ujjah nallah in Kote Panu and Pundori hamlets, and they swung into action and launched the operation in the area, they said.
The entire area was cordoned off and searches conducted for several hours, the officials said.
In the last few years, terrorists have infiltrated into India through Hiranagar and Samba and carried out attacks on Army camps and police stations in Samba, Kathua, Jammu and Nagrota areas.
However, similarly Security forces have also launched a cordon and search operation in some villages of Thanamandi in Rajouri district.
Officials told that search operation is being carried out in Dodassan Bala, Dodassan Pain and other nearby villages in Thanamandi sub division by joint teams of Army and Police .
"We cannot share nature of inputs but there are some specific inputs with us for which searches have been launched and area has been cordoned." said officials.
Reports also said that Security forces have also recovered a huge quantity of arms and ammunition from a militant hideout that has been busted during a Cordon and Search Operation launched in Dodassan Bala village of Thanamandi sub division in Rajouri district.
Operation was launched jointly by Rajouri police and Thanamandi based unit of army's Rashtriya Rifles on Saturday morning after some specific input of suspicious movement was received by police.
"During joint search by army and police, a militant hideout was busted that was made near bushes and rocks in the area," officials told.
They informed that Cordon and Search Operation is going on in the area with a huge quantity of arms and ammunition have been recovered so far that include AK Magazines - 14, 920 AK rounds, Two Pistols, One Chinese Grenade, One UBGL and 11 UBGL grenades and other material.
