2 boys drowned in river, rescue operation launched

SRINAGAR, July 5: Two boys were drowned in Nallah Sindh in Kijpora area of Kangan in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district today.
Police said two boys aged 17 and 18 drowned in the Nallah while taking a bath.
It said soon after the incident a rescue operation was launched by locals, SDRF and police to retrieved their bodies and efforts are on to trace the duo.
Police identified the duo as Zahid Umar and Faisal Ahamd-both residents of Noorbagh Palpora Srinagar.
The rescue operation was going on when this report was filed.
