Manoj Sinha takes oath as 2nd L-G of J&K

SRINAGAR, Aug 7: Manoj Sinha, a former Union Minister and three times BJP MP from Uttar Pradesh's Gazipur area has taken oath as the new and 2nd Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory.
Sinha succeeded Girish Chandra Murmu who resigned on Wednesday evening and has now been appointed as the new Comptroller & Auditor General of India (CAG).
Sinha, 61-year old politician, has been administered oath of office by Jammu and Kashmir Chief Justice Gita Mittal in Raj Bhavan Srinagar.
Those who attended the oath ceremony included Advisors to the previous Lieutenant Governors, Farooq Khan and Baseer Khan, as well as senior bureaucrats and police top brass. Besides top officials, politicians who were present at the oath taking ceremony included, Rajya Sabha member Nazir Ahmed Laway, BJP Lok Sabha member Jugal Kishore Sharma and Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party leader Ghulam Hasan Mir.
