Anjuman condoles Rahat Indori’s death

JAMMU, Aug 12: In a specially convened meeting of AnjumanFarogh-e-Urdu Jammu & Kashmir by its president Amin Banihali the death of the reputed and celebrated poet of the Sub-Continent, RahatIndori, was condoled.
A statement of the Anjuman hailed RahatIndori as a poet who for the last 50 years have earned lot of appreciation and gratitude in mushairas both by elders and youngsters and was sought after personality for the success of mushaira where in the audience would tirelessly sit till hours in the morning. He has rightly been described as “lootera of mushiaras” by Gulzar, the statement said.
The Anjuman secretary, Khurshid Kazmi said that RahatIndori was amongst those poets/ writers of Urdu world who had the fearlessness and boldness to say whatever they wanted to communicate. He had said at the height of protests regarding anti-CAA without caring for the consequences, he had courageously and aptly said: “Sabhi ka khoonshamilhaiyahankimattimein/ Kisi kebaap ka Hindustan thodahai.”
The Anjuman statement said that RahatIndori’s death is a great loss to the Urdu fraternity and that he would be missed in the mushairas. Quoting his verse “Ab na main hoonbaqinabaqizamane mere/ Phir be sherunmeinmashoorheinfasane mere,” the statement said that he will continue to live in the poetry he leaves behind.
Anjuman prayed that his soul rest in peace and the bereaved family and his countless fans get the strength to bear this great loss.
