Degeneration in DD Kashmir
Kashmir Times. Dated: 9/24/2020 9:34:56 AM
Dear editor
I regularly watch DD Kashmir the only channel being aired from Srinagar. But for quite some time the institution is not what it was before. The biggest problem with its anchors is the wrong pronounciation while broadcasting news in Urdu or Kashmiri. It appears less attention is being given to skilled persons besides qualifications and merit. I would like to make a submission to director DDK to rectify what is not good for the institution. I want DDK authorities to look into loopholes as pointed out. Recently I watched interviews of 2 top IAS officers and a top rung officer who were interviewed by a low qualified govt employee with no information, data profficiency in official language, rules, procedures even pronounciation which certainly has given a bad signal in the society but at the same time is embarassing for DDK. I also watched 2 interviews of Mr. Atul Dullo secretary health and medical education and Mr. Asghar Samoon principal secretary School education department andiIt was to the utter surprise to see them being interviewed by unskilled and ill-informed teacher. It would have been in the fitness of things had the authorities invited some well conversant top academician available in the valley even from the open market where you have well qualified and meritorious experts.
