Forest fire brought under control in Mawer: Officials

KUPWARA, Oct 11: Officials of Forest division Langate in north Kashmir’s Handwara on Sunday said the fire which was engulfed earlier this week in Compartment No 12 and 13 in Monabal forests in forest range Mawer has been brought under control after hectic efforts of the departments.
KNS quoting forest officials said that earlier this week the fire had engulfed the forests due to long dry spell and it has been completely brought under control by the employees of the department.
Range officer Mawer Mohammad Shafi told KNS that fallen material had earlier caught fire in these compartments which has later speared in the forests area, he however said that after frantic efforts by the officials and employees of the department it has been brought completely under control.
