PDP leaders welcome Mehbooba’s release

JAMMU, Oct 14: Senior PDP leaders held an emergency meeting, where in the release of Mehbooba Mufti PDP president and former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir has been welcomed.
In a statement, the PDP leaders said that Mehbooba Mufti proved to be an “Iron Lady” during her prolonged illegal detention for 14 months after the abrogation of special status of erstwhile state of J&K.
They said that there were no justifiable reasons available for Government to justify and to sustain her illegal and unconstitutional prolonged detention and they termed her detention a black period.
Those who were present in the meeting included former Rajya Sabha member T S Bajwa, Abdul Hamid Choudhary, Ved Mahajan Ex MLC, Mohammed Rashid Qureshi Advocate Ex MLC, Daman Basin, Mohammed Rashid Malik and Ch Hussain Ali Wafa.
