2 women killed, 5 injured in Akhnoor mishap

JAMMU, Nov 17: Two women of a family were killed while five persons including three children sustained critical injuries in a road accident that took place near Tungi Morh of Akhnoor Sub Division on Jammu-Rajouri-Poonch highway on Tuesday.
Police told the that a car bearing registration number JK02AE-6774 rolled down at Tungi Morh of Akhnoor. Police said that the vehicle was on the way to Jammu from Mendhar Poonch.
Officials said that 65-year-old Sarbar Bibi and 42-year-old Zamoor Bibi died on the spot while other passengers sustained injuries. They identified the injured persons as Mukhtar Ahmed, his son Ansh Mukhtar, Parveen Akhter and Alisha Naseer.
“The bodies have been shifted to a local hospital for medico-legal formalities while the injured persons are undergoing treatment and their condition is stated to be critical,” the officials said, adding that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Akhnoor Police Station.
