NEW DELHI, Nov 28: The Press Club of India (PCI) on Saturday mourned the death of over 20 journalist members who died since March and the condolence meetings could not be held for them all these months because of the Coronavirus pandemic.
A large gathering in the club lawn paid glowing tributes to the department, who included PCI vice-president Dinesh Tiwari, veteran journalist-turned film actor V M Badola (84), Rashtradoot consulting editor Raman Swamy and activist freelancer Gurucharan.
Dinesh Tiwari, editor of the PCI's inhouse magazine "Scribes World," died on November 14. Badola died in Mumbai early this week due to the age related issues. Raman Swamy, who had been editor of a couple of Delhi-based magazines and groomed many budding journalists over the year, passed away on August 4, after lying in coma in hospital for over three months. Gurucharan passed away in hospital here on November 4. PCI president Anand Sahay chaired the meeting.
