Slow fall of Corona cases

NEW DELHI, Jan 8: The Coronavirus is slowly declining in India, with 234 deaths and 18,189 new cases on Friday while the recoveries at 20,539 exceed the detection of the infections.
The active cases that increased on Thursday declined to 2,25,449 while 100.37 lakh have recovered as against 104.13 lakh total cases of the disease. The cumulative death toll rose to 1,50,570.
The tests conducted so far neared 18 crore as the tally reached 17.93 crore on Friday, with as many as 9.35 lakh tests in the past 24 hours.
Maharashtra recorded the highest 72 deaths in 24 hours, followed by 25 in Kerala, 19 in Delhi and 18 in West Bengal. There was an increase of the infections in eight states, the highest 307 in Maharashtra, 77 in Bihar and 29 in Goa.
The WHO dashboard shows 18.76 lakh Covid-19 deaths worldwide, 13,968 in the past 24 hours, 7.36 lakh new cases and 859.29 lakh total confirmed cases of the dreaded virus.
