Army porter injured in landmine blast

SRINAGAR, Jan 8: An Army porter was injured in a landmine blast near the Line of Control in Karnah of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Friday.
According to local news agency Kashmir News service (KNS), an Army porter identified as Showkat Ahmad Chuk son of Late Ghulam Rasool Chuk resident of Tanghdar Nard working as a porter with Army posted at Sib post in a forward area along the Line of Control sustained injuries when he accidently stepped over a mine.
A police official said that soon after the incident the injured porter was shifted to Sub District Hospital Tangdhar where from he was rushed to SKIMS Srinagar for advanced treatment.
