Corona cases below 20,000 for 2 weeks, deaths below 250 for 8 days

NEW DELHI, Jan 9: The Coronavirus is receding in India as less than 20,000 cases reported in the past two weeks, with 18,222 new cases on Saturday while the deaths are below 250 for the eighth day, with 228 in the past 24 hours.
The daily recoveries are also better than the new cases of infection as 19,253 persons recovered in 24 hours while the case load of active cases also dropped by 1259 to leave 2.24 lakh still under treatment.
The cumulative deaths rose to 1,50,798 which is 1.5% of the total 104.32 lakh infection cases while 10.57 lakh have recovered. Those tested for the disease went up to 18.03 crore, 9.17 lakh of them in the past 24 hours.
The WHO dashboard showed 18.76 deaths worldwide as against 859.29 lakh cases of the infections.
