Militant hideout busted in Mandi

JAMMU, Jan 23: The Border Security Force and Jammu and Kashmir police on Saturday busted a militant hideout in Mandi area of Poonch.
Officials told that on specific intelligence information, a party led by Deputy Commandant of BSF comprising of troops from BSF, Army RR and SOG of police launched an operation in forest area in Hadiguda village falling under Police Station Mandi.
In Operation, BSF said that a militant hideout has been busted while arms and ammunition have been recovered.
The recovery includes one AK-47 Rifle, three AK magazines, 82 AK rounds, three Pistol Chinese, five Pistol magazines, 33 Pistol ammunition, four Hand Grenades, one UBGL grenade and one Set Kenwood type. Officials further stated that search operation is still going on in the area.
IGP Jammu in a handout told that a joint search operation was launched by Poonch Police (SOG)),ARMY 16 RR and 183 BSF in general area of Hari Buddha today early morning.
During operation a hideout was searched in forest area and following arms and ammunition was recovered by the searching parties which include; one AK47, 03 AK47 Magazines, 03 Chinese Pistol, 05 Pistol magazines, 04 Hand Grenades, one UBGL Grenade, 82 AK 47 rounds, 33 Pistol rounds and one radio set. Case to this effect has been registered at Police Station Mandi.
