Gulshan Books wins Best Book Store of the Year in Reading Olympiad 2021

SRINAGAR, Feb 24: Gulshan Books on Wednesday announced its achievement of wining best book store of the year in the Indian Reading Olympiad 2021.
“We are utterly happy to announce that Gulshan Books Kashmir has won Best Book Store of the Year in India Reading Olympiad 2021. The event was organised by Food4Thought Foundation in collaboration with Hyderabad Literary Festival. We wish to extend our heartiest felicitation to all our well-wishers without their support and contribution this feat could not have been achieved” they mentioned in their announcement.
The owner and the CEO of the Publishing House Sheikh Ajaz Ahmad told news agency CNS that he feels proud about it.
It is pertinent to mention that earlier Limca Book of Records had included the name of Gulshan Books Kashmir-one of the publishing house with a collection of well over 80,000 books at its Nehru Park outlet in its 2018 edition Page No: 79.
Gulshan Books is a division of Sheikh Mohammad Usman & Sons. This was for the first time that a bookstore in India had been included in the Limca Book of Records.
“Under the title “only Bookshop Library on a Lake” the Limca book had written, a bookshop set up in May 2016, has a reading room, a cafe and over 80,000 books. This Book Shop Cum library on the Nehru Park Island of the Dal lake Srinagar can be reached by a Shikara ride. The owner, Sheikh Ajaz Ahmad willingly offers free Shikara ride keen to read books on Kashmir and its literature” Limca Book of records had written in observation in the year 2018 and now much more has changed to hook interest of readers.
