Assets of Delhi journalist attached

NEW DELHI, Jan 15: The enforcement directorate on Saturday tweeted that it has attached assets worth Rs 48.21 lakh belonging to Delhi journalist Rajeev Sharma under the Prevention of Money Laundry Act (PMLA) in connection with a money laundering investigation.
Sharma, who secured bail from Delhi High Court, is accused of minting money by leaking out the government secrets he obtained as a journalist to China. He is in and out of custody in a series of cases launched against him. He was once close to National Security Adviser (NSA) Ajit Doval, with whom he also penned a book.
The ED said it has also attached assets worth Rs 410 crore of Omkar Group and Sachin Joshi under PMLA in a loan fraud case.
