No development, tourism promotion in Panchari: Manjit Singh

UDHAMPUR, Nov 05, 2022: Apni Party Provincial President Jammu and Former Minister, S. Manjit Singh and Former Minister criticized the authorities for neglecting Mali Panchayat in Panchari with regard to development, promotion of tourism and upgradation of Govt Middle School Mali.
Addressing a meeting organised by District President Udhampur Hans Raj Dogra, the Former Minister Manjit Singh said that it was unfortunate the Panchayat is remote and it required over all development in every sector but the authorities seem to be unconcerned.
He said that he was shocked to know about Govt Middle School Mali which was constructed in 1962 but it was not upgraded by the authorities till date. “As the high school education is far away, the students have to travel by foot over 12 kms on a daily basis,” he said and demanded that the above said school should be upgraded to High School Education, Mali.
He said that “The students are the future of the nation and they should be provided quality education and the present middle school should be upgraded.”
He also raised the issue of the local residents who claimed that there is no public transport facility for them. “The Govt should deploy RTC buses in Panchari’s Mali Panchayat so that the people can be provided public transport,” he said and demanded that the road connectivity be upgraded. He also referred to the poor effort from the authorities with regard to the promotion of the tourist places in Panchari.
“There is huge potential in the tourism sector and employment for the unemployed local youth in Panchari yet the tourism department has hardly made any effort to explore the unexplored sites,” he said.
Meanwhile, Provincial Vice President and Ex-MLA Faqir Nath also spoke on the occasion and highlighted various issues faced by the people in Panchari including drinking water, electricity, improper health care and education system.
The meeting was also attended by Sarpanch, Makhana Devi, Panch Hari Ram, and many others and dozens of people including Sarpanch Mahkana Devi, Panches and other prominent people also joined the Apni Party on the occasion.
Vice President District Udhampur, Jagdev Singh, District General Secretary Sat Pal Chalotra, District President OBC Dharam Pal Verma, and others also spoke on the occasion.
