SRINAGAR, Nov 01: Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Budgam Noor Mohammad Mir on Wednesday rejected a bail application of a fake IAS officer and her accomplice who were of late arrested by Budgam police for defrauding a person on the pretext of securing a job for his son.
A CNS report quoting sources said that the two accused - Ayush Koul (35) wife of Manmohan Ganju, a resident of Raj Bagh Srinagar and Burhan Bashir (25) son of Bashir Ahmad Shah, a resident of Bemina Srinagar - had applied for bail which was rejected by the CJM Budgam, citing that the accused persons were involved in serious, heinous and nonbailable offences and do not deserve the concession of bail.
“The investigation of the case is at an early stage and there is every likelihood that the accused may deceive the prosecution witnesses from disclosing true facts before the investigating agency,” said CJM Budgam while rejecting the bail application.
It was also said that if the accused were released on bail they would try to influence the process of investigation. “Thus, the accused are held not entitled to bail at this stage. Therefore, the application for bail being meritless is accordingly rejected,” he added.
A case FIR number 302 of 2023 was registered at Police Station Budgam against the duo accused for the commission of offences under section 420, 419, 120-B/IPC.
