‘Israeli strike hits Gaza medical convoy, many killed’

NEW DELHI, Nov 03: Many casualties were feared as Israeli strike hit ambulance convoy carrying wounded when it was leaving al-Shifa Hospital, Gaza officials were quoted as saying in Jerusalem.
The reports also said that in a separate attack, children among at least 14 Palestinians killed while escaping south along Gaza’s coastal road, according to officials.
Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah says Israel is pursuing goal it cannot achieve, as he delivered his first public speech since start of the war.
(A Reuters report said: Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, in his first speech since the Israel-Hamas war erupted on Oct. 7, also threatened the U.S., Israel's main ally, hinting his Iran-backed paramilitary group was ready to confront U.S. warships in the Mediterranean.
A heavily armed ally of Gaza's Hamas militants, Hezbollah has been engaging Israeli forces on the Lebanon-Israel border in the biggest flare-up since it fought a war with Israel in 2006.
"You, the Americans, can stop the aggression against Gaza because it is your aggression," Nasrallah said. "Whoever wants to prevent a regional war, and I am talking to the Americans, must quickly halt the aggression on Gaza."
He added that Hezbollah, the spearhead of a Tehran-backed regional alliance hostile to Israel and the United States, did not fear the U.S. naval firepower Washington has assembled in the region since the crisis erupted.
"You, the Americans, know very well that if war breaks out in the region, your fleets will be of no use, nor will fighting from the air be of any benefit, and the one who will pay the price will be ... your interests, your soldiers and your fleets," he said.)
An estimated 3,000 Palestinians from Gaza, who were working in Israel when the war started have been forced to return to the enclave. Thousands were believed to had gone missing amid a campaign of mass arrests after October 7, 2023.
At least nine Palestinians were feared killed in overnight Israeli raids across occupied West Bank, including five in Jenin.
The reports from the affected areas aired by different Television channel and wire news agencies said that at least 9,227 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7, 2023. More than 1,400 people have been killed in Israel till date.
The UNICEF has been calling for ceasefire through its handle on X (Formerly Twitter) saying “children do not start war and they don’t have the power to do so. They are innocent. Stop bombing for humanitarian aid to the region.”
The United Nations has been calling for ceasefire in the entire Gaza Strip and West Bank, in view of the impending humanitarian crisis, have not been considered either by Israeli government or its allies. The calls to allow the humanitarian aid to flow into Gaza have also fallen on deaf ears so far.
