Violence at Pariwam after teenager’s death

SRINAGAR, Jul 30: Police had to use force to disperse violent demonstrators at Pariwan in Kulgam.
The demonstrators attacked a house in a neighbouring area. The tension started when the body of a boy, Yawar Amin Ganai was recovered near village Pariwan, Kulgam.
The 16-year old boy was missing since yesterday. The people alleged that he was murdered and his body thrown after his killing. They suspected that he was killed by some persons he was last seen with.
The people held strong protest demonstrations and demanded the arrest of the accused. They moved in a procession towards a neighbouring village, where they attacked the house of an accused.
They set on fire some structures there. Police and paramilitary forces were rushed to the affected area and they brought the situation under control.
Police said that they have registered a murder case and started investigations. The body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs after legal formalities.
