Lal Singh awaits nod to join BJP

JAMMU, Aug 1: Despite making tall claims in front of his supporters about his popularity charts and almost certain entry in to the BJP camp in the presence of party President Amit Shah in the coming days Choudhary Lal Singh is eagerly awaiting formal nod from the BJP top brass.
According to inside reports after resigning from the Congress party and holding Ghulam Nabi Azad solely responsible for his ouster from the party two times Congress MP from Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha Constituency is yet to get a formal nod from the BJP headquarters over his entry in the BJP camp.
The state party unit leaders have given mixed response to the party leadership over welcoming Lal Singh in to the party fold.
It is for this reason no official statement has been made either by the state BJP leadership or the former Congress leader himself.
On Friday addressing a meeting of supporters in Katra Lal Singh announced his decision to join the BJP but in the absence of clear cut response of the BJP leadership many political observers are treating it as mere pressure tactic by the fire brand leader.
hough the announcement was received amid thunderous applause by the supporters of Lal Singh but everyone is awaiting formal entry of their leader in the BJP camp ahead of the Assembly polls.
It remains to be seen whether in the coming days the BJP leader formally welcomes Lal Singh in the party or will keep him on his tenterhooks till election time.
