United we stand

Dear Editor,
The religion or caste based politics is always fraught with the danger of fragmenting society into bits and pieces, which in turn can impede peace, progress and development, which forms core of the civilised world. India has inherited this spirit from times immemorial and its citizens duty bound to bequeath this treasure for posterity, as they have to face the fast changing world with a sense of confidence.
The country has prospered and progressed as a single entity only because of the tolerance and respect for each others’ identities. This spirit has to be preserved and promoted at all costs and any attempt to deviate from the well chosen path decades ago will manifest in chaos and confusion. The political class in particular needs to appreciate the significance of unity in diversity.
