GCW Parade lifts Inter Collegiate Archery title

JAMMU, Oct 6: Govt. College for Women Parade once again showed its supremacy and lifted the Inter-Collegiate Archery (Women) 2015-16 trophy by defeating Govt. G.M. Science College in the ongoing Inter-Collegiate Archery (W) Tournament 2015-16 organised by the Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu, Jammu at University Sports Stadium.
Prof. Poonam Dhawan, Dean Academic Affairs was the Chief Guest and give away the prizes to the winners and runners-up at the venue and Prof. Dhian S. Bhau, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education presided over the function.
Those who were present included Narayani Jamwal, Suman Lata, Jasvant Singh, Rakesh Verma, Raj Kumar Bakshi, Ravish Vaid, Vikas Karlopia, Romesh Sharma, P.D. Singh.
The details: Women Section :: 30 Mtrs: Jaishree Govt. College for women Parade 62 points. Deepa Devi Govt. Degree College Paloura 55 points. Shehnaz Parveen GGM Sc. College 48 points.
The overall championship was won by GCW Parade with 84 points while Govt. Gandhi Memorial College stands runner-up with 73 points
Men section: 30 Mtrs: Gourav Pikhan GGM Sc. College 62 points. Ashraf Ali GGM Sc. College 29 points. Shazad Hussain GDC Paloura 20 points.
The overall championship won by GGM Science College with 107 points while Govt. Degree College Paloura stands runner-up with 38 points.
The championship was conducted by Jai Bharat, Incharge Inter Collegiate Archery (M&W) Tournament 2015-16, Sunil Sharma, Secretary J&K Archery Association, Gourav, Pradeep Sharma and Amit Sharma were the officials of the competition.
FOOTBALL: MBS College beat ASCOMS by (3- 2) goals. For ASCOMS ,Tanveer, Vivasvan and Jastin Pal scored one goal each while MBS goals were made by Varun in 16 mins and Usman in 35 mins.
In other match GDC Samba beat Bhargava Degree College by ( 2- 1 goals). The Usman of DC Samba made first goal in 25th mins and the second goal scored by Anish at 49th min of the match whereas one goal was scored by Bhargava Degree College by Riaz Ahmed at 15th mins of the match.
SPMR College of Commerce beat GDC Poonch by (7- 0 goals). The Commerce college start goals scored from the 10th mins of the match where Sandeep scored first goal, second goal in 15th min by Wawarjeet, third goal by Navjot in 26th mins, 4th goal by Ajay in 35th mins and Varinder made two goals in 47th and 56th mins respectively and last goal was made by Mr. Amit in 62 mins.
The matches were officiated by Suresh Gupta, Gagan Kumar and Taranpal Singh.
VOLLEYBALL: GDC Ramnagar outplayed GWC Udhampur in the 2nd round of ongoing Inter Collegiate Volleyball (W) Tournament 2015-16.
Earlier GDC Ramnagar outplayed GWC Udhampur by 2 – 0 sets with set scores 25 – 18, 25 – 13 while other matches remained walkovers.
The matches were officiated by Mulkh Raj, Mammohan Sharma, Manu Singh, and Pushap Thakur under the supervision of event Incharge Vikas Karlopia, Volleyball Coach, University of Jammu.
