Guv reviews status of upcoming Super Specialty Hospital, Kakryal

JAMMU, Nov 24: Governor N N Vohra, who is chairman of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Tuesday visited Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Institute of Medical Excellence (SMVDIME) at Kakryal and reviewed the to-date status of various infrastructure facilities and other components of the upcoming Super Specialty Hospital.
Brigadier (retired) M M Harjai, Chief Administrative Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Super-Specialty Hospital (SMVDNSH) made a detailed presentation on the work already completed and the elements which were under completion. The Governor also reviewed the estate development of the campus, particularly the landscaping and greening of the entire area and construction of internal roads and other required facilities as per a well prepared plan.
The Governor also reviewed the latest position in regard to the purchase of medical equipment and medical furniture and asked the executing agencies to ensure arrangements for the effective maintenance of the state-of-the-art computerised diagnostic and treatment equipments to ensure provision of the best possible patient care from the very beginning.
Brig Harjai informed the Governor about the floor-wise status of various diagnostic and treatment facilities being set up in this 230 bedded hospital which would have more than 20 different streams of medicine and surgery, including cardiology, cardio-thoracic surgery, neurology, neuro-surgery, nephrology, urology, oncology, pulmonology, bone-marrow transplant, gastroenterology, orthopaedics, trauma-medicine, paediatrics and neonatology, obstetrics and gynaecology. He stated that the required headway was being made on all the components to ensure that all the specialities were operationalised simultaneously.
Among those present in the meeting were Dr S S Bloeria; Dr Ashok Bhan and H L Maini, Members of the Shrine Board; B B Vyas, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister; P K Tripathi, Principal Secretary to the Governor; Brigadier (retired) Man Mohan Harjai, Chief Administrative Officer, SMVDNSSH; Dr S P Singh; Chief Executive Officer SMVDNSH; Dr Vinod Gupta, Medical Superintendent, SMVDNSH; Subhash Gupta, Superintending Engineer; Amit Patel, GM Projects Narayana Hrudaylay; and J J Sharma, Project Management Consultant.
