Parking woes in Jammu
Kashmir Times. Dated: 11/25/2015 10:29:29 AM
Dear Editor,
Parking Problem in old Jammu City are on the rise. As it is an era of fast-paced life where one wants to do work as soon as possible, moving from one place to another in less time without traffic jams is the need of the hour. But, hold on: is the above scenario possible? Are the promises made by political party leaders at the time of elections fullfilling the requirements up to mark? The answer is ‘NO’.
What locals met with are hollow promises. If someone wants to go to Raghunath Bazaar or Kanak Mandi or Pacca Danga in personal vehicles it seems like solving a puzzle for how to get through Jam and after that a long quest for parking. Sometimes, the impatient people park their vehicles in front of a shop or single sided lanes to leave the market in a Zig- Zag order. It’s like a joke for locals when passersby ask: Do you know where is the Parking? When will governments wake up to the need of allotting parking spaces?
