Army officer’s wife dies in road accident

SRINAGAR, Apr 20: An army officer’s wife died in a road accident near Tappar Pattan today.
Reports said that the wife of an army colonel on way from front district Kupwara to New Delhi lost her life while her relative Assistant Commandant was critically injured when the vehicle they were travelling collided with a tree near Tapar Pattan area on North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
A police official said four persons including the driver and a child were on board when the mishap occurred. “The driver lost control over the vehicle (JK01V 5616) and it struck with a tree. The injured were shifted to Wanigam Army Hospital where doctors declared Wandhana Rathi, 32, wife of Colonel Sourab Rathu, Co 21 Rajputana Rifles Chowkibal brought dead. The child was unhurt while Manish Kumar, assistant commandant of the CRPF was shifted to 92 Badamibah based Army hospital.”
