Grenade hurled at police station

SRINAGAR, Apr 28: Unidentified militants today hurled a grenade at Sherbagh police station in Anantnag.
The grenade exploded causing damage to the windscreens of some vehicles. Senior officers of police and security forces reached the spot. After the incident, security was beefed up in Anantnag town.
Meanwhile, the siege laid around a mosque in Lolab area was lifted. Reports said the siege was lifted after stone pelting on security men by protestors.
The forces had laid a cordon around the Jamia Masjid Kanthapora after they suspected the presence of a militant inside.
As per reports there was a brief exchange of gunfire. Later youths took to streets and held protests.
