SMVD College of Nursing organises seminar on World Hepatitis Day

KAKRYAL, July 28: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi College of Nursing, Kakryal today organised a seminar in connection with the observance of World Hepatitis Day.
The Day is observed as part of an annual global event to raise awareness about viral Hepatitis. This year’s theme of World Hepatitis Day is ‘NOhep, a global elimination movement’.
Addressing the seminar, Dr. (Brig.) Man Mohan Harjai, Administrator of the Nursing College, informed that July 28 is observed as World Hepatitis Day with different themes every year. He spoke about this deadly disease and its preventive measures.
Dr Shailla Cannie, Principal, SMVDCoN emphasised the need for improved sanitation, food safety and vaccination to prevent spread of Hepatitis disease.
Rajni Thapa, Assistant Professor, gave details of the various types of hepatitis, prevalence of the disease, its symptoms and treatment.
Those who participated in the seminar included nursing students and the faculty of the SMVDCoN.
Johny Kutty Joseph, Assistant Professor, SMVDCoN and Randeep Singh Bhau, Junior Administrative Officer, SMVDNSH were also present on the occasion.
