PCS girls bag U-19 Badminton title

JAMMU, July 29: Presentation Convent (PC) clinched the under-19 girls’ badminton title in the inter- school district level competitions held under the banner of Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here today.
In the final, PC trounced Army Public School (APS) Domana 2-0. The Results: Singles: Naman
Mansotra beat Harishta Yadav 21-12, 21-08. Doubles: Naman and Amishka beat Harishta Yadav and Sonali Choudhary 21-09, 21-07.
Earlier, in the semifinals, played today, Presentation Convent beat APS Kaluchak 2-0 while APS Domana defeated APS Jammu Cantonment 2-0.
The matches were officiated by the technical penal comprising Kiran Jyoti, Sanjay Khajuria, Vikram Jamwal, Tarundeep Singh, Harpreet Bhalla, Amit and Mohd. Ashraf.
THANG-TA: The inter-school Jammu district under-19 boys’ Thang Ta competition also took place in different weight categories today.
The Results: Below 50 kg: Gopal Mehra, SM Jain HSS, Ist. Below 54 kg: Aftab Hussain, KV Sunjwan, Ist. Below 58 kg: Vikrant, Green Wood, Ist. Below 62 kg: Narayan Sharma, Adarsh Niketan, Ist. Below 66 kg: Surinder Slathia, May Fair, Ist. Plus 66 kg: Prakhyal Chalotra, JK Public School, Ist.
