Jammu Sports Beat NGR 2-1 in Football

JAMMU, July 29: Jammu Sports outplayed NGR Club by two goals to nil to advance into the next round of the 2nd Vishal Heer Memorial Football Tournament being held at GGM Science College ground, here today.
Jammu Sports turned out to be lucky side when they took first lead through a self goal scored by NGR in the 10 th minute of the game. The suicidal mistake was committed by Sunil in an attempt to divert a direct kick out of the goal.
It was followed by a dilly dallying battle from both sides making attacks and counter attacks resulting into a goal that came in 31 st minute in favour of NGR. Roony netted the ball to level the score 1-1.
After the breather, NGR, who played a good game in the first half of the play, made all out effort to take the needed lead. However, it was not their day and in the last 70 th minute, Ranjeet scored a goal for Jammu Sports to help side emerge winner.
Meanwhile, in another scheduled match of the day, Shaheen Football Club got walkover Sainik Colony Club to qualify for the next round.
The match officiated by the technical penal comprising Vijay Kumar, Suresh Gupta, Dil Bahadur and Rohit Gupta.
