SRINAGAR, Aug 21 : Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) today asked doctors to provide free consultation to patients at their private clinics, nursing homes.
President DAK Dr Nisar ul Hassan in a statement urged the doctors not to charge on consultation from patients at their private establishments. In view of ongoing civil unrest, the financial condition of people is really bad. Each and every person is affected and people cannot afford to buy even essentials.
We are passing through difficult times and we need to help each other in this hour of crisis.
It is a testing time for all of us and we need to be integrated at this critical juncture.
Doctors are doing a commendable job in government hospitals and they should continue this good work at their private clinics by offering services free of cost.
Under the prevailing circumstances, it is extremely difficult for patients in peripheries to go to tertiary care hospitals in Srinagar for consultation.
It is imperative on authorities to decentralize medical staff which is concentrated in city. Specialists’ doctors from tertiary care hospital should be deputed to District/Sub-district hospitals on rotational basis to mitigate the sufferings of people.
Also, these doctors will provide trauma and emergency care at these places and will save precious lives that otherwise are lost in transit.
