Explosive growth of unemployment: A serious problem

Kashmir Times. Dated: 9/25/2016 11:44:10 PM

Dear Editor,
The number of unemployed youth is growing alarmingly and it is reported that 11 per cent of the total population in India is unemployed. The rulers on the other hand claim that they have concrete plans of providing employment to the unemployed youth which appears to be on paper so far while as on ground the intensity of unemployment can be gauged from the grim picture that lakhs of unemployed people having Ph. D.M. Phil. post graduate graduation qualification or those who have undergone engineering and doctors’ courses are compelled by the circumstances have applied for a handful of certain menial jobs like Peons, Patwaris, Gram Adhikari, Safai Karamcharis etc. in U.P., Chhattisgarh, Gujarat and other states of India where minimum qualification for employment on such posts has been merely from primary to 10+2 or so. Moreover, the youth, unable to secure a viable source of income, are turning towards criminality of chain snatching, waylaying, thefts, deco ties, looting of ATMs, Cyber Crimes, murders of aged couples or single persons etc. of desolate places as there is an old saying that “an idle man’s brain is devil’s workshop”.
