Prof Champa Sharma to represent Dogri on JKAACL panel

JAMMU, Dec 3: The Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti in her capacity as President, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages has accorded approval to nomination of Prof Champa Sharma as a representative of Dogri language on Central Committee of JKAACL.
This was disclosed by Secretary, JKAACL, Dr. Aziz Hajini, who stated that her nomination was recommended by him to dispel doubts among certain quarters regarding perceived non-representation to Dogri on Academy’s Executive Board – the Central Committee.
“Taking cognizance of concern being expressed by a section of Dogri writers with respect to representation of the language on Central Committee of JKAACL, a proposal was initiated by us for co-option of a representative of Dogri language for Central Committee from among the already nominated members of the General Council representing the language,” Hajini disclosed adding, the proposal was formally approved by the President JKAACL yesterday by way of nomination of Prof. Champa Sharma on the Apex Committee.
