Uttarakhand polls 2017: 68% voter turnout recorded till 5 pm

Dehradun, Feb 15 (Agencies): At least 68 percent voter turnout has been recorded till 5:00 pm in the Uttarakhand Assembly elections.
Elaborate security arrangements are put in place for smooth conduct of the election.
Some of the districts in this phase being community sensitive, special arrangements have been made and security is strengthened there.
However, no untoward incident or glitches in the Electronic Voting Machines have been reported so far.
Indo-Nepal border and the boundaries connecting to Uttarakhand have been sealed. Special instructions have been given to check illegal money and liquor which may be misused to influence the voters.
The polling took place at 69 out of 70 assembly seats as voting in Karnprayag constituency was rescheduled for March 9 following the death of a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) candidate.
A total of 628 candidates are in the fray for the single phase polling in the hill state.
The results of the polls will be declared on March 11.
