Basharat, Ansari meet Mehbooba

SRINAGAR, Feb 19: Following the separate meetings of Syed Basharat Bukhari and Imran Raza Ansari with chief minister Mehbooba Mufti, the PDP leadership is optimistic that both of them will withdraw their resignation and work as ministers as per the portfolios allotted to them.
Basharat met chief minister at her residence at Gupkar here this morning. Ansari had met Mehbooba last evening. Their meetings with chief minister were preceded by the meetings with senior PDP leaders Sartaj Madni, Abdul Haq Khan and Rafi Ahmad Mir yesterday.
Sources said during their meetings with Mehbooba, Basharat and Ansari reiterated the reasons for their resignation. Basharat said he was not happy with the change in his portfolio and Ansari said he needed some portfolio with which he can “serve the people effectively.”
Reports said chief minister after listening to the two ministers asked them to withdraw their resignations and continue to serve the people as the people of the state have lot of expectations from PDP leaders. She said the PDP formed a coalition government with BJP to start a new era of peace and development and based on these lines the port folios keep on changing from time to time depending upon the requirement at that time. Mehbooba said PDP leaders have the capacity to work on any portfolio and no department is small or big if there is spirit of serving the people in true sense. Chief minister told them to withdraw the resignation and resume their work.
After the meeting, the PDP leadership hopeful that they will withdraw the resignation and resume work. Mehbooba left from here to Jammu today. She had arrived here yesterday. Mehbooba is leaving for Saudi Arabia for Umrah on February 23.
PDP leadership is expected resolution of the present crises before her departure.
