Currency Chest to ensure cash availability to 113 business units: Parvez Ahmed

JAMMU, Mar 14: Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today also inaugurated the Currency Chest at J&K Bank Zonal Office Complex. Before inauguration of the Zonal Office Complex Chairman and CEO Parvez Ahmed briefed the Chief Minister through a power point presentation about the office complex.
He said, “Located strategically Zonal Office Complex Rajouri has state-of-the-art architecture with all contemporary facilities. Connected with banks network using high speed MPLS connectivity, the complex has a large conference hall and training room besides HVAC, security systems deployed across. The building has an easily accessible ATM to serve the local populace 24x7.”
Furthermore, opening of currency chest housed in the ground floor of complex shall ensure instant cash availability to around 113 business units of all banks operating in Rajouri and Poonch districts. All these business units shall be served cash locally now instead of getting cash from Jammu & Udhampur, which was quite cumbersome and time consuming”, he added.
Importantly, as strong statement of bank’s commitment towards economic transformation of entire Pir Panjal region, the Zonal Office Complex shall make the people’s access to bank management easy thereby ensuring quick turnaround time for customer expectations and effective monitoring of customer satisfaction which forms hallmark of banks strategy and core values. It also contains employee convenience with in-the-building residential flats besides guest house for executives.
Equipped with high-end round the clock security and surveillance system besides fire detection and fire fighting system, the currency chest has been constructed while adhering to “AAA standard” (highest security standard) as per guidelines laid by RBI for currency chests which are located within 80kms of LoC / international border. The total project cost, which includes cost of land and construction of the complex, is around Rs. 30 Crores.
