Welcome initiative of PMO

Kashmir Times. Dated: 3/17/2017 9:59:02 AM

Dear Editor,
It refers to welcome initiative of Prime Minister office (PMO) that Delhi Traffic Police created a special green-corridor from Indira Gandhi International Airport to Sir Gangaram Hospital in Delhi so that immediate medical treatment could be given to a new-born girl-child by transferring her from air-ambulance to the hospital in just fourteen minutes covering a distance of thirteen kilometers through the busy roads of Delhi. But all this could be possible because of PMO getting a tweet-message from uncle of the child. But ideal situation would be to provide such a noble facility to all ambulances throughout the country rather than some specific cases favoured by high authorities.
On the contrary, people in Varanasi suffered a lot in last three days of poll-campaign from 04.03.2017 to 06.03.2017 because of super high-voltage political drama of rallies and road-shows of country’s tallest politicians including by Prime Minister of the country and Chief Minister of the state. Possibility cannot be ruled out of many patients not reaching to hospitals because of a jammed city in these three days.
Election Commission should take some effective measures so that such great inconvenience to public may be avoided through meaningless show of political power by different political parties at cost of highly disturbed public-life. Political rallies and road-shows for electioneering should be banned, and instead recognized political parties may be asked to follow American pattern of live TV debates of leading politicians. Ban on political rallies and road-shows will also reduce requirement of dirty money in electioneering further avoiding misuse of power by ruling political parties.
