JKSSC qualifies for Quarter Finals of CM's Cup

JAMMU, Mar 17: Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council (JKSSC) XI today qualified for the quarterfinals of the ongoing 50-over a side cricket tournament for Chief Minister's Cup, organised by Country Cricket Academy at Gharota, near here.
In the second round of pre-quarterfinals, JKSSC defeated Katra Cricket Club making it an easy nine wickets victory. Batting first, Katra Club bowled out for 63 runs in 19.3 overs with Ajit being only batsman to score in double figure.
It was first class cricketer, Mehjoor Ali Sofi, who scalped six wickets for 24 runs and caused the major damage to opponent batting line up. Nadeem Dar and Mujtaba Rizvi shared two wickets each. In reply, JKSSC overhauled the small total in of 64 in mere 5.5 overs for the loss of one wicket of Khalid. Another current Ranji cricketer, Manjoor Pandav finished the innings hitting five sixes. Later, for his six wickets haul, Mahjoor Ali was adjudged man of the match.
