State Level Cricket tourney | NCC defeats RCC by 6 wkts, enters semis | | | JAMMU, Mar 18: NCC defeat RCC by 6 wickets in the first quarter final of the Ist state level Cricket Tournament at Village Gharota. With this victory the NCC are now in the semi finals.
Vijay Dogra with 4 wicket and 58 runs man of the match. The second quarter final will be played on March 21 between JCC and Baramula Cricket Club Baramula Kashmir.
Earlier, RCC won the Toss and chose to bat. Rainawari Cricket club could manage 190 runs with contributions of Vimarsh Kaw 49, Puneet Wattal 22 Nipun Verma 24 Bandeep Singh 33 and Nitin Manhas 30.
From the NCC side the wicket takers were Vijay Dogra 4 Tanmay Salathia and Deepak Manhas took 3 each.
When NCC came to bat, their batsmen Manish Dogra 68 and Vijay Dogra took the initiative of batting and secured victory Abdul Samad 14 and Amritpal Singh 19 also made small contributions.
RCC side tried almost all their bowlers to see the NCC fall but the day belonged to the NCC. RCC fielders could not latch on to the catches offered by the NCC batsmen to change the result in their favour.
Those present on the occasion included Randhir Singh Coach J&K Sports Council , Sanjay Sharma and Kanwaljeet Singh Former Ranji Trophy captains. Sandeep Singh also former Ranji Trophy Player was the match observer.
