Victory of women

Dear Editor,
Election-results for UP state-assembly reflect justice given by voters to women specially. One is Swati Singh of BJP from Sarojini Nagar in Lucknow, who and her daughter were publicly insulted and and inhumanly humiliated by BSP leaders in July 2016.
Second notable winner is Garima Singh again of BJP from Amethi, whose rights as a lawful wife were snatched by her husband Sanjay singh. Interestingly the lady defeated the second wife of her husband Amita Singh of Congress, apart from notorious rape-accused Gayatri Prajapati of Samajwadi Party. Canvassing for Gayatri Prajapati in election-rally by outgoing Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav was one of the major factors of defeat for Samajwadi Party.
BJP has recorded its win even from Muslim-dominated areas also. It may be that Muslim women might have voted for BJP, because the party has shown its commitment towards rights of Muslim women in matters of divorce etc.
