Governor, CM greet people on Nauroz

JAMMU, Mar 20: Governor NN Vohra and Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti have greeted people on the auspicious occasion of Nauroz, which is also observed as World Arbour Day.
In his message of felicitations, the Governor observed that this festival has important cultural and religious significance and appealed that one and all should join hands in planting trees for saving our rapidly deteriorating environment.
The Governor hoped that this auspicious day would be the harbinger of peace, progress and prosperity in the State.
In her message on the occasion, the Chief Minister hoped the festival, which she said has religious and cultural significance, becomes harbinger of peace, progress and prosperity for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. This day also marks the beginning of plantation season in the State.
Mehbooba Mufti appealed people to join hands on this occasion in planting more and more trees for preserving the environment.
In his message of felicitations, Dy CM hoped that this auspicious day would be the harbinger of peace, progress and prosperity in the State. He hoped that the day will herald a new era of peace and progress in the State.
He observed that the festival has both cultural and religious significance while noting that this day is also observed as World Arbour Day and emphasized on the need to plant the maximum number of trees for preserving the environment.
Extending warm greetings to the people, the Chairman Legislative Council, Haji Anayat Ali hoped that the festival will prove harbinger of peace, progress and prosperity for the State and its people.
Haji Anayat Ali said Jammu and Kashmir is a state where people belonging to different religions and speaking various languages have been living in peace and tranquility since centuries.
