JAMMU, Mar 27: National Conference today slammed PDP for creating an environment of fear and uncertainty across the Kashmir Valley, saying that the people are yet to come out of the trauma of 2016 gruesome incidents.
“Even as the PDP was enjoying loaves of power with BJP, the young people were falling to bullets in every street and square”, former minister and MLA Kangan Mian Altaf Ahmed said.
Addressing roadside election meetings along with senior National Conference leaders, Mian Altaf said that the insensitive PDP leaders, instead of feeling remorse over making young boys and girls fodder for pellet guns, mocked at their helplessness rather than making the security forces accountable. “For five turbulent months, the PDP completely took over the command of trigger happy forces that let loose reign of terror on innocent Kashmiris”, he said, adding that the trauma is unending as the people, irrespective of their age, are pushed behind the bars on false charges.
He questioned the moral authority of the PDP in coming before people who they subjected to untold atrocities.
Senior party leaders and legislators Mohammed Akbar Lone, Sheikh Ashfaq Jabbar and Ali Mohammed Dar also spoke to the gatherings and sought vote and support for Dr Farooq Abdullah in the upcoming elections for Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency. They said that the vote to National Conference will be negation of anti-Kashmiri and anti-youth policies of the PDP.
Describing the PDP and BJP as two faces of the same coin, National Conference State Spokesperson Junaid Azim Mattu today exhorted the people in general and workers in particular to expose their sinister designs of trampling glorious ethos of Kashmir and subjecting youth to worse type of atrocities.
Junaid Mattu said history will never forgive the perpetrators of crimes against Kashmiri youth at the behest of Nagpur and called for united front to expose and punish these elements in a democratic manner. He described the ensuing elections as an opportunity, not only to demonstrate anger but dislike as well for the forces responsible for decimation of entire young generation.
“A responsibility has cast upon us all to unite and demonstrate our strength through our ballot”, the State Spokesperson said while seeking vote and support for Dr Farooq Abdullah in the by-polls. He said National Conference is identity of Kashmir that has all along stood for the just cause of its people, irrespective of caste, creed or colour.
