Supreme Court verdict on Aadhar

Kashmir Times. Dated: 3/28/2017 10:55:10 PM

Dear Editor,
It refers to Supreme Court verdict dated 27.03.2017 directing that no one will be deprived of benefits of government-welfare-schemes because of not having Aadhar-card. But ultimate objective should be to have one single identity-card in form of Aadhar-card for any individual which may comprise all details, abolishing need of having a voter-card altogether. It will save a lot in preparing voter-cards.
Already Aadhar-card has been provided to most people of the country, and a date may be fixed whereby all citizens of the country may have Aadhar-card to avail any type of government-service including even benefits of government-welfare-schemes. If it can be ensured to provide voter-card to every adult citizen, Aadhar-cards can also be ensured to be provided to all citizens. Special arrangements should be made to provide Aadhar-cards to non-adults by launching special drives in schools. Aadhar-cards for new-born child should be issued with issue of birth-certificates.
Linking Aadhar-card to bank-accounts subsequently to get all subsidies and payments from government has already saved enormous government-funds. By fulfilling ultimate objective to provide Aadhar-card for every citizen will further save government-funds by providing benefits of government-welfare-schemes to only Aadhar-card holders. It is to be noted that option of multiple Identity-cards for post-demonetization note-exchange was largely misused by many persons through note-exchange multiple times. If only Aadhar-card would have been the only Identity-Proof required for note-exchange, country would not have seen such long queues and large-scale cash-crunch during that period.
