Pulwama College closed for 2 days

SRINAGAR, Apr 16: Following clashes between students and protestors yesterday, Degree College Pulwama has been closed for two days.
Dozens of students were injured in security forces and police action after clashes in the college yesterday.
“Following the clashes that broke out between the forces personnel and the students of the government degree college (Boys), Pulwama on 15 April, 2017, where in numerous students have reportedly been injured, the principal degree college Pulwama as well as the students are being informed not to attend the college on 17th and 18th of April, 2017 as the college will remain closed on the said days,” district magistrate Pulwama said in a statement.
The clashes had occurred when security forces vehicles had entered into the college premises and students had protests. However, police said the security forces had not entered into the college but had laid a naka some distance away from college. But college principal alleged that police and security forces ignored his plea not to enter the college premises in view of the tense situation.
