Celebrations started with Sachin's wicket
NEW JERSEY, Apr 25: England spinner Monty Panesar will be 35 on Tuesday and will be cutting his birthday cake one day later after India's Little Master Sachin Tendulkar had his celebrations on Monday.
Speaking exclusively over his mobile from England on Monday afternoon, he said, "it would have been nice to be born the same day as Sachin Paaji because cake would be always on him!!!".
Interestingly, Panesar's first victim was Sachin Tendulkar (Vidarbha Cricket Association ground, Nagpur in 2006).
"I remember my first Test wicket and he has been my childhood hero and the celebrations and exciting was unbelievable. I guess that's where the celebrations started!!".
"I remember training with Sachin Paaji and his son (Arjun) at Lord's and just feeding him on bowling machine was so much fun, and I always get struck by his humility and also focus and love for cricket".
"I was at Asian awards dinner few years back and I got opportunity to just relax and talk to him like a friend it was nice to talk like so I could feel normal around him after all he is human!!", added Panesar.
"We haven't played together on our birthdays!! If that did happen I would have asked Sachin for his Cricket bat as birthday present but what could I give him??!!!"
"If I am asked to discuss about our birthdays, it would be too stressed to think about how I will bowl to him!!", Panesar signed off.
