KATRA, Apr 28: Chief Executive Officer of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, has been receiving letters which recommend priorities being accorded for issue of helicopter tickets and darshans. These letters are on the letter heads of VIPs.
Because of the frequency of letters from the same source the CEO has lodged a complaint with the Police Station, Katra, which has registered an FIR for fraud and cheating.
It is pertinent to mention that the Protocol Wing of the Shrine Board received letters on the letter head of a Union Minister, showing the signature of the Hon’ble Minister recommending that priorities be granted for helicopter tickets and darshans.
CEO found that these letters were mailed to the Board’s office from private email IDs and not from the official ID of the Ministry. CEO approached the concerned Government of India Ministry officials for verification, who confirmed that no such letters had been issued by their Ministry.
In view of the above a prima facie case of forgery and cheating has been made out and, therefore, CEO has lodged a complaint in the Police Station, Katra, for taking urgent action.
