Inter School Volleyball Championship organized

JAMMU, May 29: Lance Naik Joginder Singh Memorial Inter School Volleyball Championship was conducted by the Army at Mendhar, Poonch.
The tournament was conducted from May 25 to 27 in the memory of Lance Naik Joginder Singh of the Army who made the supreme sacrifice for the nation in the line of duty. Eight teams from Mendhar tehsil to include Mendhar, Chhatral Harni, Salwah, Ari, Balnoi, Gursai and Kalban participated in the tournament.
The final match of the tournament was played between Salwah and Mendhar on May 27 at Mendhar. The team from Mendhar was the winner of the tournament. Both the teams were felicitated by the Army. The players and the villagers showed tremendous enthusiasm towards the event and turned up in large strength to witness it.
On the occasion, Army applauded the youth for their efforts and encouraged them to make the best use of such platform to display their sporting talent and also laid emphasis on the importance of games and sports for their overall development.
