OORJA- CAPF’s youth U-19 football talent hunts tourney concludes

JAMMU, June 18: OORJA-CAPF’s youth under-19 Football Talent Hunts concluded in the Sports Stadium, University of Jammu. In this tournament six States teams of Boys andGGirls participated which included teams from the Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Assam, Tilangana and Uttar Pradesh.
The valedictory function of the tournament organised by the SSB Jammu in colloboration with the University of Jammu was held at the University stadium. The final football match of men’s section was played between the teams of Assam and Sikkim which was won by the Sikkim by 1-0 goal.
Kiren Rijiju, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, was the chief guest of the valedictory function who was received by Prof RD Sharma, the Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu and Guest of Honour of the valedictory function on his arrival at the University of Jammu by presenting a bouquet. Officers of the SSB were also present.
The Chief Guest was introduced with the players of the participating teams, who later also awarded trophies, medals and cash award to the position holding teams.
In his address Kiren Rijiju, the Chief Guest of the occasion appreciated the contribution made by the University of Jammu authorities for the successful organisation of the above said tournament and especially mentioned the name of Esteemed Vice Chancellor Prof RD Sharma for it.
Those who were present on the occasion included Ravinder Raina, MLA Sunderbani, Prof Avtar Singh Jasrotia, Director Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, Dr Neeraj Sharma Special Secretary to the V.C., Dr Brij Baloria, P D Singh and officers of the SSB.
