Hike in subsidised LPG - post GST

Dear Editor,
The Goods & Services Tax (GST) has been launched by the Union Government with great pomp and show in the country with the slogan "one nation-one Tax" as bonanza to the people of India painting brighter picture saying that with this kind of tax regime in place the prices of consumer and other goods will come down heavily giving relief to the people from sky rocketing prices. If it happens so the people of India especially the poor ones will be benefited and what will be the actual situation the people will come to know soon as here in J&K State this law may be put in place from Friday mid night. However, the first shock came to the people when the price of subsidised LPG was raised steeply by over Rs. 32 in one go. The poor people and middle classes are using subsidised LPG for household purpose. The apprehension among the people about the real impact of GST on house hold goods that GST may raise the consumer price further has got the glimpse by steep raise in price of subsidised LPG.
